usb dongle

Hi Brennen,

Hope this isn't a complete no-brainer question, but if I don't ask...

I've built a small 2-wheel balancing bot (ala nBot), and would like to set up a wireless connection to it. To be honest, I'm not sure whether xbee, bluetooth, or nordic is the way to go (first shot at this). I'm leaning towards the nordic chip, mainly because the sparkfun fob would make the perfect 'remote'. Question is, is it possible to use something like the avr usb nordic dongle to talk to one of the generic transceiver modules?

Would like to set up a serial connection between the pic32<->PC for datalogging, and (maybe not simultaneously) use the nordic fob for remote steering input.

Any wisdom/tips greatly appreciated!

daniel

Since the Atmel part uses a 24L01, it could talk to any module that has a 24L01, 24L01+, 24LU1, 24LE1, or even one of the 2401 parts. I'm not totally sure about their protocol, so if you're not using the Atmel part on both ends, you'll have to write some of your own firmware for the robot side to talk to the Atmel unit.

FWIW, I'll be having a module based on the 24L01+ in my store pretty soon. 8-)
